For Woodland Trust Nature Detectives - Fieldmouse Special

Hi Nature Detectives!

You probably arrived here by following the link printed on the Woodland Trust's beautifully laid out double page sheet 'The Adventures of Roy & Marie' in the Nature Detectives Club pack. This is the site of the people who took all the photos - its not chance that we are also Roy & Marie.

About 20 years ago we bought a patch of cow pasture to go with the house we were buying, and planted about 2000 trees and hedge plants, dug some ponds, and waited to see what happened.

We have tried to keep a photographic 'diary' of events and the fieldmice (also known as woodmice) were one of the many species that arrived without any help.

Do go for a ramble round the Main web site. From there you will be able to find descriptions by subject, some ultra time-lapse (speeded up) 'movies' of things growing (see 'Through the Seasons') and over a thousand 'daily' images in 'Image of the Day'.

Meanwhile if you love the mice there are over 200 pics of them among over 1000 on other subjects. We have gathered the mice together for you as Fieldmice from Image of the Day. You really need broadband for reasonable speed. Do let us know if you have any problems navigating the images.
Don't get confused by the dates - they run backwards and start in the future! They are actually the date for which they were or will be the 'image of the day'.

Do email us with any comments, questions, requests for larger version of images, suggestions, or if you want to join our weekly mailing list of a little news and lots of pictures, most of which never make it to the web site.
