Status of VUTRAX 12.5a Before Release of 13.0a (Apr 2006)
Extract of Change Marked Sections from
\SRCE\DOC\VTXLOG.PFM last updated on
20 Mar 2006
VUTRAX 12.5a
Entry Date: 27 Oct 2003
Enhancements & Changes:
- Design files are backwards compatible with Vutrax 12.4.
- PLOT command setups are forward compatible, but those that include 'V'
option directive explicitly for CNC Drill or GERBER options will be refused by
Vutrax 12.4 and earlier.
- The [Recent Files] list is provided with more user control of what included
and excluded.
VUTRAX 12.5b
Entry Date: 17 Apr 2004
Maintenance issue:
- User configuration files and project files are interchangeable with
Vutrax 12.5a.
- Electra Auto-router supported in the free issue. Note: to enable the Electra
interface as an update to the a 256 pin free issue you need to use the latest
installer, update with the full 12.5b download, and add the Electra/Specctra
interface module.
VUTRAX 12.5c
Entry Date: 24 Oct 2004
General Problem Fixed:
- [Linux only] On some keyboards the keypad behaved as if NumLock was
always on. The fix requires an update using the 12.5c issue VTXINSTALL (rather
than using the menu driven update).
General Enhancements:
- User configuration files and project files are interchangeable with
Vutrax 12.5a and 12.5b.
- [Linux only] The mouse wheel is supported where it is useful. The functions
are the same as described for Windows. Use the latest VTXINSTALL if you are
upgrading to enable this functionality.
Version: DRAFT 38.23d (VUTRAX 12.5a)
Entry Date: 20 Sep 2002 - 27 Oct 2003
Enhancements:
- The Command line MOVE command (step along structure) provides an option
to provide a single click per step.
Version: DRAFT 38.24a (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 10 Jan 2004 - 6 Apr 2004
Problems Fixed:
- Vutrax (including the free issue) can act as a viewer for drawings
larger than its configured capacity. But if you use a [View ...] option, then
after a warning message box DRAFT exits instead.
Workaround 1: Use an [Open
...] selection instead. Workaround 2: If the file is Read-only (or on
read-only media) then DRAFT will refuse to [Open ...] it. Use Windows Explorer
to Copy & Paste the file to (say) \VUTRAX\WORK. Right Click on the copy,
Select [Properties] and uncheck [Read Only] if it is checked. Now [Open ...] the
copied rather than original file. Fix: For Windows DRAFT 38.23d apply SAN
197 to ...\win32\draft.exe using 80 3D ? ? ? ? 01 1B C9 A1 ; B9 FF FF FF
FF 90 90 90 90 ?
- When running 'WIREGEN' (Analyse Circuit) if the pin name is omitted after a
REQ or OPT directive, or this or the signal name is omitted from an ACT
directive, then there is no warning. An error is detected during Rats-Nest
generation (WIRE).
Workaround: On an unexpected Rats-nest error within a .WIR
file check the data points of related schematic symbol (typed command LISTD is
convenient).
- If you use a very high resolution font to insert a long line of text, an
attempt to 'UNDO' this operation may result in a report that there are no UNDO
operations remaining.
Workaround: [Delete Structure] from (Edit > Delete)
to remove the erroneous text. Use [Again] or command rota to call back the
command to correct and use again.
- Postscript output specified 'BoundingBox' in floating rather than integer
values. Most rendering software/printers don't care but some complain and/or
produce no output.
Workaround: Text edit the output file to remove the
fraction, rounding the 1st two values down, the remaining two up. Fix: Trial
versions are available on request. Advice: Filter setting for Linux
Postscript/Ghostscript can be found in advice for SEE 11.06 Dev A.
- Segment operations on signals may join signal inappropriately if the cursor
positioned part way along a segment is positioned over a corner of another
signal.
Workaround 1: Undo and select one end of the segment. Workaround
2: Set OPTIONS 16 in CONFIG.MCH to make the cursor fall onto the start of the
segment.
Version: DRAFT (re-issue not required) (VUTRAX
12.5b)
Entry Date: 22 June 2004
Problems:
- [Linux only] Automatic saves write to file draft.sav rather than
the intended <main file & path name>.art.auto.bak .
Intermittent file locks may prevent auto-saving if more than one DRAFT is
running
Fix: Text edit .../vutrax/xwin/config.mch and change the first entry
to AUTOSAVE 10 5 %FILE%.auto.bak { Automatic Save after 10 minutes, } (
Waiting for user to pause for 5 seconds, } { Save to file <original
name>.auto.bak } Close and restart Vutrax - the change should now be in
.../vutrax/config.mch and take effect.
Version: DRAFT 38.25a (VUTRAX 12.5c)
Entry Date: 11 Oct 2004
Problems:
- Postscript output - Differences in interpretation of scaling and
offsets embedded in encapsulated Postscript headers could lead to blank sheets
being printed. Standard utilities (e.g. Ghostview) display output normally, but
some printer drivers (e.g. Canon) and Postscript capable printers (e.g. Epson)
do not.
- Postscript Auto-sizing ignored any user specified paper size and used its
approximate A4 initial setting.
- The Metafile Dialogue [Fit Rectangle] feature did not update the scaling
automatically when required image size was changed.
Workaround: Click again
[Fit Rectangle] for the update.
- Printer dialogues with large differences in the scaling of the two axes,
whether using [Anamorphic] of by explicit settings, may cause mispositioned or
clipped output.
- Use of 'cms' settings scaled some of these wrongly.
Workaround: Force
[Inches] even when [cms] is auto-selected for Metric drawings.
Enhancements:
- Graphics Print dialogue settings are now stored between DRAFT sessions,
independently for each output type. Changes are not stored if you [Cancel] the
dialogue. When a print dialogue is first used in a DRAFT session the Inches/Cms
selection is selected to match the artwork, but thereafter follows the users
last setting. A new [Default] button adjusts the settings to the initial
installation default.
- [Linux] Support of mouse wheel has been added.
(Needs updated
/vutrax/rtl/libtwin32.so for updates so ensure you install using updated
VTXINSTALL.) Reminder: Normally vertical scrolls. Hold down Shift key to
sideways scroll or Ctrl key to Zoom up/down
Version: DRAFT 38.25a (Not re-issued)
Entry Date: 29 Jan 2005 - 3 Apr 2005
Problem:
- If DRAFT closes unexpectedly while loading a file then that file has
probably become truncated within the attributes section (by file transfer,
filing system error etc).
Workaround: Try to locate the .BAK file. Fix: A
proper diagnostic will appear in the next issue.
- Menu command [Join Blinked] from (Edit > Blinked Items > Change
Blinked) invokes the PICK JOIN rather than BLINK JOIN. The problem is
in DRAFT.MNU 38.22a
Workaround: Type the command BLINK JOIN instead. Fix:
Apply SAN 197 to ...\draft.mnu (.../draft.mnu in Linux) using $161A28 'pick'
; 'blnk' (Note blnk does not include the 'i')
- [Linux only] Schematic hierarchy directives not observing filename letter
case used in Linux will fail load the referenced file.
Workaround: In either
Windows or edit the hierarchy data points to match the case used in Linux (e.g.
Change to lower case for the SAMPLE files)
Version: TOOLBOX (*** Planned for Vutrax 13.0a)
Entry Date: 5 Dec 2005
Problems Fixed:
- GRAPHEDIT for Vutrax 12.0 to 12.5c
When selecting items to process
using the 'All Except' feature for pad sizes and/or layers, some values are
tested in the opposite sense to that specified:- Sizes: 256 to 999 Widths:
25'6 to 999'9 (0.64mm to 24.998mm) Explicit listing for the above types, and
all forms for Layer and Point type selection work properly. Workaround:
Instead use DRAFT 'FIND' and 'PICK' operations. e.g. to remove everything
except pads of sizes 16 and 998:- pick on * find * p hnfhfn s 16;; *0;;
ppick off;; find find * p hnfhfn s 998;; *0;; ppick off;; find priv
pick erase You can copy and paste this (minus any indent) into
...\work\gedemo.dex and execute this file in DRAFT while displaying xmpl.art to
see the effect.
- BUILDLIB (Make Job Library) for Vutrax 12.0 to 12.5c
TRACE shapes that
include a non-empty 'Name' field may discard part of the trace shape description
in the generated file. The resulting library is not usable. Workaround 1:
Fix the resulting file:- 1. Use SEE editor to find " T (double
quote, space, upper case T). 2. At each line it finds that starts
'padshape <pad number>' note down number and then delete the line
(Ctrl+Y). Leave the edit window open positioned at end of file. 3. Use
[Search] from (File) to locate .LIB files that include each 'padshape <pad
number> "' (ends space, double quote) and at each such entry:-
3a. Press the Esc key to mark one end of the section, cursor key down to
the last line of the PADSHAPE entry. 3b. Copy to clipboard (Ctrl+C)
(cursor line to last Esc implied). 3c. Move to the original edit window
and Paste (Ctrl+V). 4. Don't save any accidental changes to the original
library - use Alt+F4 to exit all but the original target file. Workaround 2:
Permanent fix by changing the library definition, only possible if the names
are not CNCNONPTH directives:- 1. Use [Search] from (File) to locate
.LIB files include " T (double quote, space, upper case T). 2. At
each of these lines that starts PADSHAPE the quotes and all the text within, as
in PADSHAPE 123 "Teardrop shape" T ... becoming PADSHAPE 123
T ...
Version: AUTOPLACE 8.06a (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 06 Apr 2004
Problems:
- If COUPLING definitions are specified, and the full path to the
graphics file includes any spaces, then the .urf or .con file name is determined
incorrectly.
Workaround 1: If your project name includes spaces, rename
the files/directory using underlines to replace spaces. Re-select the names in
the dialogues to get the new paths established, and re-generate the rats nest to
correct paths in the .URF file. Workaround 2: If you installed with
spaces in the path (e.g. into \program files\vutrax), create a spaceless project
directory and define it at [Projects] from [File]. Use Windows Explorer to Cut
and Paste the whole project to it. Regenerate the rats-next to update the .URF
file.
Version: PLOT 16.02d (VUTRAX 12.5a)
Entry Date: 17 June 2003 - 27 Oct 2003 Enhancements:
- CNC drilling can generate drill tables and header automatically
(invoking new utility CNCTOOLS as required). Available for Imperial (Inch) or
Metric output.
- Full optimisation of most drill output to select each tools only once
(rather than for each pad type using the size).
- Update of the CNC drill summary output (if used) to reflect the optimised
form.
Change:
- The V"..." option style allows differentiation between
options for different support utilities. Existing option will work.
Version: PLOT Postscript Control Files (VUTRAX
12.5b)
Entry Date: 8 Mar 2004
Problem:
- The Encapsulated Postscipt Directive 'Page:' takes an abnormal form.
Most rendering software/printers don't care but some complain and/or produce no
output.
Fix: Apply SAN 197 to which ever you use of
...\postscript prn.sxy and/or postscript prn.sxy using patch string
3F 20 3F ; 31 20 31
Version: PLOT Postscript Control Files (VUTRAX
12.5c)
Entry Date: 11 Oct 2004
Problem:
- Interpretation differences of scaling and offsets embedded in
encapsulated Postscript headers may lead to blank sheets being printed. Standard
utilities (e.g. Ghostview) display output normally, but some printer drivers
(e.g. Canon) and Postscript capable printers (e.g. Epson) do not.
Fixed
control file available on request.
Version: CNCTOOLS 1.01b (VUTRAX 12.5a).
Entry Date: 27 Oct 2003
Purpose:
- Provide PLOT (and stand alone use) the ability to automatically
generate the drill sets required for a given artwork/artworks and styles of
plotting.
- Simplify Excellon CNC drill output in ASCII format to select each tool only
once, remove unused tools from the header, and update any PLOT summary output
files.
Version: CNCTOOLS 1.02a (VUTRAX 12.5b).
Entry Date: 5 Dec 2003
Problem Fixed:
- CNC styles with manually prepared drill tables and headers did not
include the drill sizes in the summary output file (usually SUMMARY.ASC) because
PLOT generated summaries were removed by CNCTOOLS during single tool change
optimisation in favour of its own, but no drill sizes are available.
Workaround 1: Suppress single tool optimisation using [Enable Changes] from
(File > Setup > Configuration). Edit the control file (*.nxy) you use by
removed '16' from $Z16 on the last line (as the comment suggests). Workaround
2: Turn off all stripping of summary output by applying SAN 197 to
...\win32\cnctools.exe (Linux ...\xwin\cnctools) using ? 'CncTlPTch' ; 0B ? ?
? ? ? ? ? ? ? (To restore the original style replace 0B with 07) Fix: Use
[Install] from (File > Setup > Configuration) to install an update
including CNCTOOLS 1.02a. This issue automatically determines whether or not to
strip the PLOT generated summary output before adding it own.
Version: CNCTOOLS 1.03a (VUTRAX 12.5b Update 1).
Entry Date: 26 May 2003
Problem Fixed:
- Generating CNC output with either of control files
CNC AUTO .1THOU.NXY or CNC AUTO METRIC.NXY may generate
extraneous coordinates after the final sometimes convenient 'deselect tool'
directive T00. The terminating M30 also gets buried in any coordinates. Whether
the problem occurs depends on the tool selection sequence & coordinates.
Many machines & software ignore the extraneous coordinates and assume the
M30, working fine even if the problem occurs. If you experience a problem a
number of fixes are available which can also be applied on a precautionary
basis:- Workaround 1: Remove the T00 and the problem:- [Enable Changes]
from (File > Setup > Configuration). Edit one or both control files to
find the line 'T00' (immediately before 'M30' about 70 lines down), and remove
the whole of the line 'T00'. [Re-initialise] from (File > Setup >
Configuration). Workaround 2: Stop the tools sequence optimisation that goes
wrong, but leave in the T00:- [Enable Changes] from (File > Setup >
Configuration). Edit one or both control files to change to last line
'$Z16$N...' to '$Z$N...' as the comment suggests. [Re-initialise] from (File
> Setup > Configuration). Fix: An update to CNCTOOLS 1.03a is available
as Vutrax 12.5b Update 1 (Windows & Linux) onwards. The update includes the
.NXY files to reverse any temporary edits you applied.
Version: SCHEMLIB 3.04a (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 5 Dec 2003
Problem Fixed:
- If a zero sized SCRIPT point (used to specify comments in the indexes)
precedes the 'DEVICE' data point then the comment is not included in the index
(though it still appears in the background library listing).
Avoidance: Build
the symbol as described in the tutorial with Index Information at the end.
Fix: Use [Install] from (File > Setup > Configuration) to install an
update including SCHEMLIB 3.04a.
Version: OBJLIB 3.04a (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 5 Dec 2003
Problem Fixed:
- If a zero sized SCRIPT point (used to specify comments in the indexes)
precedes the 'OBJECT' data point then the comment is not included in the index
(though it still appears in the background library listing).
Avoidance: Build
the symbol as described in the tutorial with Index Information at the end.
Fix: Use [Install] from (File > Setup > Configuration) to install an
update including OBJLIB 3.04a
Version: DESRULE 34.06a (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 17 Apr 2004
Fix:
- The merged markers are now managed using BLINK rather then FLASH (DRAW
x times) so that they are persistent. The find first and next command embedded
in the keyboard command ROTA also use this scheme.
(A patch is available for
graphics that mishandle BLINK).
Version: DESRULE 34.07a (VUTRAX 12.5c)
Entry Date: 11 Oct 2004
Enhancement:
- After merging you are now prompted with how to control the blinking of
the markers introduced in the previous issue.
Version: EMCRITIC 2.07a (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 17 Apr 2004
Fix:
- The merged markers are now managed using BLINK rather then FLASH (DRAW
x times) so that they are persistent. The find first and next command embedded
in the keyboard command ROTA also use this scheme.
(A patch is available for
graphics that mishandle BLINK).
Version: EMCRITIC 2.08a (VUTRAX 12.5c)
Entry Date: 11 Oct 2004
Enhancement:
- After merging you are now prompted with how to control the blinking of
the markers introduced in the previous issue.
Version: PARTGEN 10.04a (VUTRAX 12.5c Update 2)
Entry Date: 29 Jan 2005
Problem:
- If the names of accessory items (in the .ACC file) included lower case
letters they did not match names in the Suppliers (.SUP) file and part numbers
were be omitted.
Workaround: Convert a copy of the suppliers file to upper
case using the following SEE command sequence (omit all spaces and interpret '0'
as digit zero):- Ctrl+F F <enter> U 0 <enter> M <enter> D 0
<enter><enter> Fix: Install 'Vutrax 12.5c Update 2' or a later
12.5c update.
Version: SEE 11.06a [Linux Only] (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 8 Mar 2004 - 17 Apr 2004
Problem:
- [Linux only] Printer output is in Postscript, but the output filter
selection is not offered for whole file print (Ctrl+P) and does not accept typed
changes for printing selections (Ctrl+W P).
Workaround & General use of
Ghostscript: From VTXSHELL: SEE %HOME%/.vutrax printer.ini From bash:
vi $HOME/.vutrax printer.ini and set the default output filters
required for text and graphics. If you use Ghostscript to access a
non-Postscript printer you need entries like [Printer] PipeGraphics=gs
-sDEVICE=laserjet -sPAPERSIZE=a4 ... ... -sOutputFile=/dev/lp0 PipeText=gs
-sDEVICE=laserjet -sPAPERSIZE=a4 ... -sOutputFile=/dev/lp0 (... <new
line> ... means one continuous line.) '/dev/lp0' is replaced by your
preferred printer or spooler. 'laserjet' is replaced by your printer type -
list available options using 'gs -h' at the bash prompt. 'a4' is the paper
size (stick to A4 to text outputs). To preview the output write the output to
a file (e.g. temp.ps), and view this output using ghostscript:- bash
shell> gs -sPAPERSIZE=a4 /vutrax/work/temp.ps
Version: SEE 11.07a (VUTRAX 12.5c)
Entry Date: 24 Oct 2004
Enhancements:
- Section to File (Ctrl+W & Ctrl+T) & Clipboard Export (Copy or
Cut) output matches current Operating System's new line style.
- Clipboard import (Paste) matches current file's end of line setting. (File
Import (Ctrl+R) retains the line ending it finds to provide a means of doing
this when required.)
Quick conversion of a text file from an 'alien' form to
that selected for the current file can be accomplished using Ctrl+A Ctrl+X
Ctrl+V (Select All, Cut, Paste)
- [Linux] Support of mouse wheel has been added.
(Needs updated
/vutrax/rtl/libtwin32.so for updates so ensure you install using updated
VTXINSTALL.) Reminder: Normally vertical scrolls. Hold down Shift key to
sideways scroll.
Version: SEE 11.07a (Unchanged) (VUTRAX 12.5c
Update 2)
Entry Date: 29 Jan 2005
Enhancements:
- A Spelling checker dictionary update is included in 'Vutrax 12.5c
Update 2. Any personal dictionary changes are retained.
Old Version: VTXUDDU 5.01a (VUTRAX 12.4a & VUTRAX 12.5a)
New Version: VTXUDDU (*** Updated planned for Vutrax 13.0)
Entry Date: 30 May 2005
Problem:
- [Linux only] If you run this utility on a file in a FAT partition (or
try to install Vutrax into FAT partition) it may fail and leave behind a file of
indeterminate attributes.
Workaround: First remove the file VTXUDDU.TMP for
the nominated folder/directory. Then use SAN 197 to apply the following patch to
'/vutrax/xwin/vtxpatch'` including command line options -L3 -H3 :-
'VTXUDDU.TMP' ; 'vtxuddu.tmp'
Version: MENUVTX 10.09d (No update required for
VUTRAX 12.5c)
Entry Date: 11 Oct 2004 - 20 Mar 2006
Problem:
- The [Open] file forms sometimes malfunction if there are upper case
letters in the file path.
Workaround: Use the [Browse] button and select the
same files extension.
Advice:
- In Windows XP and Linux the Item
[File Locking] from (File >
Setup) should be enabled to ensure that you do not try to edit the same file
in two windows. New installations default to this, but old Windows installation
that have been updated may be specifying [No File Locking] as was necessary
before the SHARE module was included in Windows by default. We recommend
checking your setting, and if it is wrong change it and then restart Vutrax.
- If the Vutrax Install directory is accessed over a network then initial
Vutrax startup may be slow - it is scanning the remote structure to remove
temporary files.
SAN 213 from the web site at [Support] > [Software
Advice] > [Long Term Advice] provides a patch to modify the behaviour if
required.
Version: VTXHELP 2.02a (VUTRAX 12.5a)
Entry Date: 27 Oct 2003
Enhancements:
- Option to support running the Windows version using Linux 'WINE'
emulation.
Version: VTXHELP 2.02a Second Edition (VUTRAX
12.5b)
Entry Date: 8 Mar 2004 - 17 Apr 2004
Enhancements:
- An internal module (htm2asc) used during text searches may crash if no
'>' terminates the last tag. Only applicable to invalid imported or corrupt
help files.
Version: WEBVIEW 4.1 [Windows Only] (VUTRAX 12.1
on)
Entry Date: 17 Nov 2004
Effect of Trojan Infection:
- [Windows only] If, when you try to run the Vutrax Help System you get a
message like
'The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS ...'
(actually the 16 bit Help browser not DOS) you are probably infected by one of a
number of variants of a backdoor Trojan horse which gives *REMOTE ACCESS* to
your computer. It is NOT a Vutrax fault. It is vital that you download the
latest update for your antivirus application and run it. Microsoft support
article Article ID 324767 provides an immediate fix, but the problem may come
back at the next boot until you remove the Trojan, and your machine is at
serious risk until you do.
Version: AMAYA 3.2.1v [Linux only] (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 22 June 2004
Workarounds:
- If you have problems printing Help output, leave Amaya on the required
page and use Netscape, Mozilla or whatever to Browse file
.../vutrax/docs/vtxhelp.hlp and print it from there. Subsequent pages can
be selected in Amaya and using [Reload] in the second browser.
Version: VTXSETUP 12.5a (VUTRAX 12.5a)
Entry Date: 27 Oct 2003
Enhancements:
- Accepts Vutrax 12.5a master files.
Version: VTXSETUP 12.5b (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 17 Apr 2004
Enhancements:
- Accepts Vutrax 12.5a & 12.5b master files.
- 256 pin free issue includes Electra router interface module.
- Interface module selection includes Electra interface by default, and [All]
and [None] buttons are provided.
Version: VTXSHELL 5.03a (VUTRAX 12.5a)
Entry Date: 27 Oct 2003 Enhancements:
- The 'DIR' command can produce file lists in comma separated output for
import to other utilities.
Version: VTXSHELL 5.04a [Linux only] (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 17 Apr 2004
Problem:
- [Linux only] Format of Postscript printer output fixed.
Version: VTXSHELL 5.05a (VUTRAX 12.5c)
Entry Date: 11 Oct 2004 - 25 Oct 2004
Problem:
- [Not a problem in Normal Vutrax Operation] The DIR command /Z option -
allocation unit size is sometimes ridiculous when listing over a network.
- [Linux only and not a problem in normal Vutrax operation] Running outside
the Vutrax environment the libraries get confused by directory/file names with
upper case letters. The new issue checks this and takes any action necessary.
Workaround: $HOME/.twinrc must include at least the definition [boot]
nochangecase=1
- [Not a problem in Normal Vutrax Operation] SETSTR environment variable
arithmetic forms reject the numeric form -.<digits> (e.g. -.5).
Workaround: Include 0 before '.' e.g. -0.5
Enhancements:
- [Linux only] Command (.BAT) files ignore carriage return at line ends.
Command files executed from mounted DOS drives now function correctly.
(The
Windows version already accepted Linux line endings.)
- Environment variable COMMCONV accepts a directive to strip DOS disk letters
from file name parameters. Intended for use in Linux but OFF by default in
Windows and Linux.
- Looks for environment variable INITENV Vtxshell to define the
filename of an initialisation file. If the variable exists the file it names
must exist and contains only SET, CD, ECHO and REM commands (without filters).
Not used in standard installations.
- XCOPY includes option /U to perform time/date sensitive archiving and/or
archive checking.
Version: VTXSHELL (*** Planned for Vutrax 13.0)
Entry Date: 5 Oct 2005 - 20 Mar 2006
Problems:
- [Not a problem on Normal Vutrax Operation]
Command SETSTR ...
FIRST/LAST { /X <last fn> } used for processing through lists of files
may miss some files when /S is used and there are various depths of subdirectory
in the search path.
- [Linux only - no effect on normal Vutrax use] The VTXSHELL 'pipe' function
assumed that a temporary folder was available at /usr/tmp and the pipe operation
if not.
Now uses /tmp Workaround: As 'su' mkdir /usr/tmp & chmod 777
/usr/tmp
- If the full path to the run-time Vutrax directory included upper case
characters then Vutrax could block start-up by repeatedly failing to initialise
twinlib.ini (obvious from a dialog box message).
Workaround: Create a lower
case soft link to the directory. e.g. With persistent Home folder
/KNOPPIX.IMG/home/knoppix:- su ln -s /KNOPPIX.IMG /knoppix.img exit
cd <path to vutrax directory using link> ./start vutrax (this may
stop as before) ./start vutrax (should run normally)
Version: VTXFIND (*** Planned for
Vutrax 13.0)
Entry Date: 5 Dec 2005
Problem Fixed:
- Searching for items as 'whole words' may find items that are not whole
words when very near the end of the file.
Version: VTXPATCH 7.00a (VUTRAX 12.5b)
Entry Date: 17 Apr 2004
Enhancement:
- Exact addresses can be included in the control file.
Version: VTXTOSPC 4.04, SPCTOVTX 4.07 (Update to
VUTRAX 12.5c)
Entry Date: 11 Dec 2004
Problem Fixed:
- Recognises HOLES in silk outlines as something to be avoided during
routing.
Workaround: Draw in explicit non-routable areas for these.
