VUTRAX 13.4b
Entry Date: 1 May 2011
Maintenance upgrade to Vutrax 13.4a:
- Vutrax 13.4a configuration files will also install this version as a
new issue or an upgrade. No 'update' file is available - to update Vutrax 13.4a
install 13.4b over the top.
- Upgraded versions leave the defunct WEBVIEW and/or AMAYA browsers installed
but do not use them. New installations do not include them.
Version: DRAFT 39.06a (Vutrax 13.4a)
Entry Date: 16 May 2010
Enhancements:
- Auto-cursor panning extensively reworked for proper operation in
maximised windows in Linux, and easier to control in Windows.
- Concertina/Zigzags re-interpreted to avoid suppression of OPTIMISE on
network signals containing them.
Version: DRAFT 39.07b (Vutrax 13.4b)
Entry Date: 1 May 2011
Problems fixed:
- [Linux only] Right click on Fixed Hole may crash DRAFT.
- [Linux only] Multiple Region Groundplanes didn't work properly.
Enhancements:
- Avoids storing scroll wheel zooms and similar in lists.
- The track measurement facilities (VIEW ...) now inspect explicitly selected
signals for overlaying traces that might confuse the measurement, and offer
various options.
Version: DRAFT 39.08a (Vutrax 13.4b Update 1)
Entry Date: July/August 2011
Problem Fixed:
- If you build a footprint library in DRAFT using [various Footprint]
from (Library) with a silk outline that includes a ROUND point which includes a
Degree turn, then the subsequent physical library description will generate an
error like:-
Unexpected Coordinate: ... silkshape ... R <rx>
<ry> <quad> D <deg> W <wid> ...
--------------------------------------------^ Each <field> represents a
coordinate or other value. Workaround 1: Jot down the listed line number and
where in the line the ---^ appears and click [Edit File] in the dialogue. In
the SEE editor use Ctrl+G<line number><enter> to move to the
appropriate line & correct the SILKSHAPE entry by moving D <deg> to
after W <wid> with one or more spaces either side. e.g. silkshape ... R
123 456 4 D 45 W 4 ... becomes silkshape ... R 123 456 4 W 4 D 45 ...
Workaround 2: The EDLIBSLK (Graphical edit of Library Silk outlines) generates
the correct format. Although it displays errors during import of the erroneous
form, and may corrupt other elements, it is possible to correct the problem
graphically with this tool, but we consider it more straightforward to perform
Workaround 1. Fix: Available for DRAFT as a development update which includes
DRAFT 37.08a and corrected documentation for the SILKSHAPE directive.
Version: TOOLBOX 12.04b (Vutrax 13.4a Trial issues
only)
Entry Date: 16 May 2010
Enhancements:
- New feature BAREBOARD creates IPC-D-356 bare board test data. Included
in all configurations up to their capacity limit.
- ANNOTATE & BACK-MODIFY now normally preserve the position, orientation
& script size of pin annotation legends. New feature can be overridden.
- TOOLBOX interactive use automatically adjusts menu lists to fit the current
window size.
- Concertina/Zigzags re-interpreted to avoid suppression of OPTIMISE on
network signals containing them.
Version: TOOLBOX 12.04c (VUTRAX 13.4a product issue
14 June 2010)
Entry Date: 14 June 2010
Problem Fixed:
- AUTOLIBRARY (used to modify component outlines and pad layouts, now
superceded by more advanced library facilities) could misinterpret device
rotations if an artwork contained coordinate rounding errors due to use of TURN
or coordinate conversion.
Workaround: The program usually notified the
problem. Inspect the first 5 points of the old and new silk outlines for
unexpected fractional coordinates.
Version: AUTOPLACE 9.02a (VUTRAX 13.4a)
Entry Date: 16 May 2010
Enhancement:
- Concertina/Zigzags re-interpreted to avoid suppression of OPTIMISE on
network signals containing them.
Version: PLOT 17.10a (VUTRAX 13.4a)
Entry Date: 16 May 2010
Enhancement:
- Layer selection option 'T' to set Top mode (Primary layer drawn last)
is now applicable to all styles, primarily to provide more control over
Postscript.
Version: PLOT 17.11a (VUTRAX 13.4b)
Entry Date: 1 May 2011
- Problem Fixed:
If you are generating a drill chart for Pen, Photo,
Postscript or 'native' formats (but not GDI or Matrix) special circumstances can
cause a malfunction. You have to have included drawn diagrammatic
information which includes Nodes or FixedNodes the same size as a drill chart
Hole or FixedHole. Depending on the structure of the 'nib' file, the drill
crosses for these pad shape numbers may plot as pads but including any expected
drill mark numbers or letters. Workaround: Change the annotation to use a
unique pad number defined as the shape you want.
Version: AUTOTRAK 24.02a (VUTRAX 13.4a)
Entry Date: 16 May 2010
Problem:
- Concertina/Zigzags re-interpreted to avoid suppression of OPTIMISE on
network signals containing them.
Version: VUROUTE 9.02a (VUTRAX 13.4a)
Entry Date: 16 May 2010
Problem:
- Concertina/Zigzags re-interpreted to avoid suppression of OPTIMISE on
network signals containing them.
Version: SEE 11.4a (VUTRAX 13.4b)
Entry Date: 1 May 2011
Enhancement:
- The text editor can search backward Shift+F3 or from the menu -
particularly useful if you overshoot.

Internet access capability.
Version: HTMLVIEW 1.00a (VUTRAX 13.4b)

Discontinued:
- Replaced by HTMLVIEW across all platforms.
Version: VUTRAX.MNU 10.15a (VUTRAX 13.4b)

- Menus mismatched so some options not controllable.
- Butt-ended lines in silk outlines caused the program to stop when processing
the derived libraries.
Workaround to find & change using Butt ended
lines:- Click on it's silk outline M= (moves to Point 1) PRIV W R+0 99
(Changes all butt-end to Round for the selected outline) Save to a new file
if the change would be a problem, or save over otherwise.
