VUTRAX Applications

VUTRAX is used in a huge number of diverse applications, handling with ease forms of design from digital to analogue, from Microprocessor board to Valves, from Power supplies to Hybrid layout, and from Audio Amplifiers to Microwaves.
Many of our customers chose our software because these capabilities allow single designs to mix and match these very different requirements.

Over many years some of our customers have written descriptions of their companies and how they use VUTRAX. We have grouped them together here. Some of the descriptions are showing their age, some being written in the DOS era and in the transition to Windows, but then VUTRAX has a long pedigree. The command line interface mentioned is still there, but new usere invariable use the menu system, floating local menus and tools bar in preference.

  • Audio
    Marshall Amplification produce the high power amplifiers much beloved in the Rock music industry. Many amplifiers include valves to retain the period sound.
  • Defence
    High reliability and tight constraints on mechanical design are aided by VUTRAX's integrated mechanical drawing.

    Good RF design is as much about the actual track layouts as about the components. VUTRAX is used to create exactly what the designer wants.

    Modern medicine research uses ever increasing amounts of automation for handling hazardous materials. The MRC use VUTRAX to design the critical electronics.

    The real world is not all electronics, and Cairn Research use VUTRAX for electronics and mechanical design.

    Pinacl are particularly effected by the European EMC requirements, and use many features to help fine tune their PCB layout.
